Any LoraFit ring with GATT service 56FF works, no app needed. When it goes quiet, see Troubleshooting. Reading is safe; never type raw 39 / 67 or touch FEF5.

question answer
Which rings work? any ring whose app is LoraFit and whose GATT has 56FF: SR116-xxxx, JY-Y3-xxxx, sold under many brands as "AI Recording / Translation Ring" with an HR3918. ring-cli scan decides by manufacturer id 0x594A. LoraFit's other family ("JieTuo", 6800/6801/6802) is a different chip — not covered
it stopped answering empty scan, [] from hr, 100 % battery, ghost readings — every one has a one-line fix on Troubleshooting
Do I need LoraFit? no — it was used once, as the source of the protocol. Unpair the ring from it or it will not answer anyone else
how long does a memo take to pull? ~50 packets/s × 240 ms of audio each: a 6-minute memo streams in ~30 s. Deletion needs the 0x36 echo
two rings, one phone? yes — each is its own device with its own label. On a Mac, one bridge per ring with -a
is it safe? reading is. No reboot / factory-reset / unbind / OTA verb ships; ring-cli raw 39|67 is refused without --i-own-this-ring. Never write to FEF5
is it legal? interoperability research on hardware we own, nothing bypassed — SECURITY.md
where is the raw ledger? the full ledger; the Protocol pages are the organised version
